SuperGrid is set in a near future where mining conglomerates have turned Canada into a wasteland. Two brothers must travel the same road that claimed their sister’s life in their quest to deliver mysterious cargo. En route they must contend with road pirates, rebel gangs, and each other.

This past weekend I attended the world premiere of SUPERGRID at the Calgary International Film Festival on September 21, 2018! Following the screening, the film’s director Lowell Dean, along with producers Hugh Patterson, Trinni Franke, cinematographer Michael J. Davidson and writer T.R. McCauley were on hand for a short Q&A to chat about the flick. (VIDEO BELOW COURTESY OF ME! – Also my phone ran out of memory right before T.R. was about to speak – however he just said simply “Thank You” – haha). I asked Dean after the screening when the film will likely get a larger release and he teased a potential December VOD debut so if you aren’t able to attend a limited theatrical screening, stay tuned for late 2018 to check out this Saskatchewan-filmed future western action thriller from the team that delivered the freaking Wolf Cop franchise.

“It’s a post-apocalyptic action movie, about two brothers who are not getting along but are forced into a vehicle on a suicide mission on the Supergrid – which is basically like the number one highway, if it was the high seas and instead of pirates there’s all these enemy jackals and if you pull over, you’re gonna get mugged or killed.” – Lowell Dean (click HERE for the full interview where he talks about filming Supergrid and more!)
