More of badass Frank Grillo is always a good thing.
Even though it seemed as if Frank Grillo’s (The Purge: Election Year) super-villain, Crossbones, died in last year’s Captain America: Civil War, it appears he will be back in some shape or form in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
In an interview with Forbes’ Simon Thompson at the launch of this year’s famed Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, Grillo dropped a hint that his take on the famed Captain America adversary would return.
“It’s great to be part of Marvel too, and I have three boys who are fanatical about Marvel, and I was surprised not too long ago because there is some news that nobody knows yet, to do with my character, that’s going to be really interesting and I’m excited about that.”
My only minor complaint with Civil War was that Crossbones, one of Captain’s best antagonists, appeared to have died early on in the movie, thanks to an explosion after confronting Captain America and his friends.
But now that does not appear to be the case, according to Grillo’s remarks, which makes me both excited and interested to see how the super-villain Hydra factors into the MCU going forward. Will he be in the next Captain America movie (if there is one) or will he appear in another MCU project?
Either way, I’m just glad to see that it looks like Grillo’s Crossbones is coming back. Are you surprised (and happy) to see that Grillo’s Crossbones will seemingly be back?
