I think we can all agree the best part of this new trailer is the cover song of David Bowie’s classic hit “Heroes”
With the final trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi expected to drop this evening, Warner Brothers decided to beat Lucasfilm to the punch by releasing the final trailers for their most anticipated studio movie coming out during the remainder of the year by dropping the final trailer for Justice League yesterday morning:
The final trailer for Warner Brothers’ epic superhero team-up is more of the same, which is actually a good thing. To reveal that we get our first look at Superman/Clark Kent in the movie is not necessarily a spoiler since the scene is only a dream sequence and doesn’t show exactly how he will return from the grave after dying in last year’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
I’m glad the studio’s marketing team did not spoil anything by revealing more than what we’ve already seen in previous trailers; the only noticeable things here are the visual effects having been polished (though Cyborg still looks cringe-worthy) with added flair (notice the red backdrop in some scenes that were not in previous trailers?) and smiles. (Look at everybody smiling to make it look like these DC movies are fun!)
As the marketing push for Justice League enters full force heading into the final month before its release, the studio has to be feeling a little pressure. With much-rumored extensive reshoots and the clash between movie critics and DC fanboys already happening on Film Twitter, it only hints at the countless debates that will ensue on the social media platform once the movie is out for mass consumption. So, yeah, build your fallout shelters accordingly between now and the movie’s release on November 17.
