Rob Zombie is back with his sixth solo album and his best in years. The ridiculously titled ‘The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser’ is equal parts Hellbilly, White Zombie with hints of Primus. Yes – Primus. On the insane ‘Well, Everybody’s Fucking in a UFO’, Zombie channels Les Claypool and the instrumental arrangement beckons that chuggy, bizarre Primus sound that we all know and love.
Clocking in at a mere half hour in length, the record is wacky, fast, heavy and balls to the walls weird as hell. I’ve been a fan of Zombie’s for YEARS. This album might be one of my favorites – or maybe I’m just floored by how zany and fun it is so it caught me off guard with no time to really let it sink in. What I will tell you is that I’ve been listening to ‘The Life and Times of a Teenage Rock God’ on repeat for way too long and I don’t even give a shit. It’s that good.
