From HBO and showrunners Bill Hader and Alec Berg (Silicon Valley), comes the hitman comedy series Barry. Starring Bill Hader in the title role, who also writes and directs all eight episodes, the show will air in 2018. Barry co-stars Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Carrigan and Henry Winkler.

Barry centers on an ex-Marine (Bill Hader) who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied in his life, he begrudgingly travels to Los Angeles to kill someone and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene.

Casey Bloys, president, HBO Programming has announced that the half-hour comedy series ‘Barry’ will begin production in Los Angeles this Spring so that it’s ready to air in 2018. “From ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘Documentary Now!’ to a host of standout feature films, Bill Hader has consistently displayed amazing comedy smarts and impressive range as an actor, producer, writer and, now, director,” said Bloys, “We are delighted to welcome him to the network for this exciting series.”

HBO’s half hour comedy lineup has always been stellar and it will be nice to see Hader shine on this network which is also home to standouts like Vice Principals, Ballers and of course the masterful Silicon Valley.
