Canada Set for Ultimate Destruction When Big Bears Invade Series Strikes in Spring 2017

by | Dec 7, 2016

From Renegade Arts Entertainment comes an epic new comic series set for an early 2017 debut — ‘When Big Bears Invade’. Brought to you by writer Alexander Finbow and artist Nyco Rudolph, the upcoming series will feature gigantic bears laying waste to Canadian landmarks and cities.

Official Synopsis:

‘Children, children. Gather round your grandmother, and I will tell you of the time before the benevolent bears showed humanity how to live in harmony with the world.’

When Big Bears Invade! is an illustrated children’s book for adults featuring beautiful Godzilla and King Kong inspired paintings of Giant Bears attacking major Canadian cities and landmarks. At least that’s what Granny says really happened.

Manitoba artist Nyco Rudolph and Alberta writer Alexander Finbow join creative forces to reveal the myth behind how the Benevolent Bears came to rule over us all.

My initial observations on ‘When Big Bears Invade’:
  1. I’m Canadian and I love what Renegade Arts is doing for Canadian comic fans, featuring stories that integrate Canada’s cities, lore and landmarks into the material. So I’m super excited to see which Canadian locations get smashed by Godzilla-sized bears.
  2. Bears are a riot. I’ve been a fan of Axe Cop creator Ethan Nicolle’s work on his webcomic Bearmageddon, which is about mutated bears wreaking havoc – so it’s a slightly different deal entirely – but alas – bears. We like bears and we like bears even more when they are unleashed.
  3. I love how the synopsis describes this story as a children’s book for adults. This makes me very intrigued in the narrative direction that Finbow and Rudolph will be taking ‘When Big Bears Invade’.
