Five Nights at Freddy’s Film Adaptation Lands Poltergeist Remake Director

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director Gil Kenan (Monster House, Poltergeist), comes the big screen adaptation of the horror gaming sensation Five Nights at Freddy’s. There is currently no release date set.

Gil Kenan has been announced as the director for Five Nights at Freddy’s. With his credits including Monster House and the new remake of Poltergeist, he seems the perfect fit to helm yet another horror film focused on a demented pizza place terrorized by murderous animatronics come to life. Kenan will script the film adaptation alongside Tyler Burton Smith.

You are the night guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a Chuck-E-Cheese styled family restaurant. As the night progresses you are stalked by five animatronic characters looking to kill you. Survive the night by conserving power and monitoring the security cameras from midnight to 6 am for five nights to win. – Video Game Synopsis.

Producers Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), Roy Lee (Vertigo Entertainment), David Katzenberg (IT) are on board. Jay Ireland and Adam Stone are executive producing with Jon Berg and Nik Mavinkurve overseeing the project for Warner Bros.
