Meet NICK SAX – a corrupt, intoxicated ex-cop turned hit-man, adrift in a stinking twilight world of casual murder, soulless sex, eczema and betrayal. With a hit gone wrong, a bullet in his side, the cops and the mob on his tail, and a monstrous child killer in a Santa suit on the loose, Nick and his world will be changed forever this Christmas. By a tiny blue horse called Happy…
According to Deadline, Chris Meloni has been cast in the lead role for the upcoming TV miniseries adaptation of the black comedy comic series Happy! Meloni (Oz, Wet Hot American Summer), will be playing Nick Sax, a former police detective who is now a hitman that begins to hallucinate and see a kidnapped child’s imaginary friend (named Happy) and the two go on a violent mission to rescue her from a psycho dressed up like Santa Claus. Grant Morrison’s dark tale is loaded with uncomfortably grim material with doses of comedy injected throughout. The imaginary friend Happy, is always incredibly optimistic while Sax is…. let’s just say he’s quite the downer.
