From DC Comics, SyFy, executive producer David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight) and showrunner Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow) comes the Superman prequel series Krypton. Starring Cameron Cuffe, Ian McElhinney, Elliot Cowan, Rasmus Hardiker and Georgina Campbell, the first season will debut late 2017.

Krypton takes places two generations before the famous destruction of the planet and will follow Superman’s grandfather – whose House of El was ostracised and shamed – as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

We all know (whether you liked the Superman reboot Man of Steel or not) that the coolest piece of that film was the beginning when we got to see the craziness that is planet Krypton. To have an entire series further exploring that world is fascinating and we don’t ever have to delve into Gotham territory and subsequent problems because Superman will likely NEVER be a character in it – cause he was blasted off this sucker at birth. So please… Don’t…

The preview looks good and it appears like they definitely utilised visual and design cues from Man of Steel in order to build the world. Consider me curious since I really wasn’t AT ALL, when this show was first announced.
