From director Justin Kurzel (Macbeth) and 20th Century Fox comes the big screen adaptation of Assassin’s Creed. Starring Michael Fassbender, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Michael K. Williams
and Marion Cotillard, the film is scheduled for release December 21, 2016.

Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.

Although this second trailer for Assassin’s Creed fleshes out the story a bit more and packs some nasty scenes of glorious stabby action, I miss the use of Kanye West’s ‘I am a God’. They went with some rock on the soundtrack this time and I don’t find that it works as well. As odd as using rap was the first time, it really worked more in my opinion to mix that futuristic blending of high-tech and the past vibe that they’re going for.

I’m still excited for Assassin’s Creed, mainly because Michael Fassbender is amazing in everything he does, and the direction/cinematography looks wild – but coming out so soon after Rogue One feels like a death sentence at the box office, especially so close to Christmas. Fingers crossed that this movie survives all of the obstacles in it’s path.
