Own Head Full of Honey on Digital August 20th

Witness a heartfelt, life-changing journey when “Head Full of Honey” arrives on Digital. The film stars multiple Oscar nominee Nick Nolte (“Warrior,” “Affliction,” “The Prince of Tides”) as Amadeus, a recent widower whose strong personality, charm and sense of humor can no longer mask the life-altering onset of Alzheimer’s. “Head Full of Honey” also stars Oscar nominee Matt Dillon (“Crash,” “You, Me and Dupree”), Emily Mortimer (“Lars and the Real Girl,” “Lovely & Amazing”), Til Schweiger (“Inglorious Basterds,” “Honig im Kopf”) and Sophia Lane Nolte, making her feature film debut.

Head Full of Honey” was written and directed by acclaimed German actor and filmmaker Til Schweiger and based on his earlier successful German film release. This poignant generational drama marks Schweiger’s English-language directorial debut. The screenplay for “Head Full of Honey” was written by Schweiger, Lo Malinke and Jojo Moyes. The film is based on the picture “Honig im Kopf,” written by Hilly Martinek and Schweiger and directed by Schweiger. The film was produced by Schweiger and Christian Specht, with Kimberly Hines serving as executive producer.

The creative filmmaking team included René Richter as director of photography, Isabel von Forster as production designer, Christoph Strothjohan and Schweiger as editors and Metin Misdik as costume designer. The music was composed by Martin Todsharow and Diego, Nora and Lionel Baldenweg.

SYNOPSIS

Unable to live alone, Amadeus (Nick Nolte) reluctantly moves in with his son, Nick (Matt Dillon) and Nick’s wife, Sarah (Emily Mortimer)—a couple who are dealing with problems of their own—and their bright 10-year-old daughter, Tilda (Sophia Lane Nolte), outside of London. There, despite the disruption and chaos that ensues when Amadeus becomes part of the already tense household, he and his granddaughter develop a special bond. Tilda’s patience and affection for her grandfather becomes his strongest link to life and the person he used to be.

When Amadeus expresses a deep desire to revisit the places of his fondest remaining memories, Tilda makes a bold decision. Giving her parents the slip, she accompanies him on an unpredictable road trip to Venice, Italy, that will transform not only their lives but the entire family.
