From Legendary Pictures, Universal Pictures and director Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Daredevil) comes the highly anticipated Pacific Rim: Uprising. The first film was helmed by Guillermo del Toro (Crimson Peak) and it looks like he’ll remain closely with the production team for the follow-up. The film stars John Boyega,Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, Wesley Wong and Lily Ji and is due for release February 23, 2018.
There are no plot details at this time, but John Boyega’s character is the son of Idris Elba’s, who starred in the first film.
Thanks to License! Global, we have our first look at three of the new Jaegers from the upcoming Pacific Rim sequel. Pacific Rim: Uprising should be a damn good time, especially with Steven S. DeKnight directing under the guidance of visual mastermind and franchise creator Guillermo del Toro. DeKnight’s past work in television was game-changing and his series all felt cinematic anyway – especially Spartacus. As for the appearance of the new Jaegers – they look lean and mean, so I’m stoked. Now let’s reveal a monster shall we?
