by | Dec 24, 2015

31 is an upcoming horror film from director Rob Zombie (The Devil’s Rejects). It stars Malcolm McDowell, Sheri Moon Zombie, Lew Temple, Ginger Lynn, Judy Geeson and Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs . It will make it’s debut at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah on January 23rd before it’s scheduled for a wider release.

The story of five random people kidnapped on the five days leading up to Halloween and held hostage in a place called Murder World. While trapped inside this man-made hell, they must fight to survive playing the most violent game known to man… a game called 31. 31 has no rules. 31 has no boundaries. It is ever so simple. Do whatever you can do to killer your opponent before they kill you. Keep this up for 12 hours and freedom is yours.

After two attempts to whittle down his upcoming new film into something that has an R-Rating, it looks like 31 is still stuck at an NC-17. One can only imagine what the hell is stopping the MPAA from giving the film a rating so it’s able to actually play in theaters…The movie is known to feature the following qualities:  “sadistic graphic violence, bizarre sexuality/nudity, pervasive disturbing images and some strong language”.

“Well, after two tries through the MPAA our rating on 31 remains NC-17. Maybe three is the charm to get an R rating. Why R you ask? Well, because your local theater will not show an NC-17. Even though you are a fucking adult… things must be censored for your enjoyment.” – Rob Zombie
