TNT has announced today that it will be reviving the classic HBO horror anthology series Tales From The Crypt with The Visit director M. Night Shyamalan executive producing the new show which is targeting a Fall 2016 return.
Tales From The Crypt will return as part of a two-hour block of horror programming this Fall on TNT (the other one-hour show is yet to be announced). Aside from Shyamalan, other producers will be Ashwin Rajan (Wayward Pines), James D. Stern (Looper) via Endgame Entertainment and Aloris Entertainment’s John Santilli (The English Teacher) and Dan McKinnon (Missing William).
“I couldn’t be more excited to be teaming up with Kevin Reilly, Sarah Aubrey and the entire TNT team in this unique endeavor. To be part of such a beloved brand like Tales from the Crypt, something I grew up watching, and to also have the chance to push the boundaries of genre television as a whole, is an inspiring opportunity that I can’t wait to dive into.” -said Shyamalan.
Tales From The Crypt ran for seven seasons and 93 episodes during it’s Emmy nominated run on HBO. The iconic John Kassir, who does the voice of the infamous Cryptkeeper (in everything) has yet to announce his return but if he’s not involved then everybody should probably raise hell and riot on the streets.
