The first full length trailer for upcoming Netflix series The Punisher dropped today and it features the song ‘One’ by Metallica. Metal fans will realise straight away how amazing this is, considering the song is about a man coming back from war changed forever. I mean – in the song he loses his arms and legs and sight — so let’s just assume it’s more metaphorical here since Frank Castle definitely has all his limbs, but he’s most certainly not the same dude after running all those covert CIA missions etc.
The preview looked fucking incredible. This was my most anticipated new series of the Fall because I loved Jon Bernthal’s character on Daredevil season 2 and I’ve been a huge fan of the Punisher comics. In my opinion, Punisher is the most complex, compelling and adult Marvel comics character ever created. We still don’t have a date, but wouldn’t it be cool if Netflix just decided to sneak attack everyone and drop it without ANY warning whatsoever? I’d dig that – I’d also unexpectedly lose my weekend plans and be glued to my TV for thirteen episodes.
