The New Halloween Poster Has Us Counting Down The Days

by | Apr 19, 2018

Remakes and reboots are often awful and sometimes even unnecessary. When it was announced last year that a new Halloween movie would go into production soon, a lot of people were skeptical. After all, the last Halloween movie we saw from Rob Zombie in 2009 was pretty atrocious to say the least. There are plenty of reasons to be excited for the reboot/sequel set to hit theaters October 19th.

We got this simple, yet terrifying poster this morning and needless to say, it is time to start counting down the days. The fact that John Carpenter is heavily involved and Jamie Lee Curtis is reprising her role as Laurie Strode makes it even more exciting. It seems like the story is picking up after the original 1978 Halloween and they’re just kind of pretending that all of the mediocre/awful Halloween films that happened in between didn’t happen. This is an interesting way to go about things, but maybe it is the best thing to do in order to have it come even remotely close to the level of the original Halloween.

David Gordon Green is helming the director’s chair for Halloween and it’ll be interesting to see what he does with a horror film. He is known for comedies such as Pineapple Express and Eastbound and Down, and also the powerful 2017 drama Stronger. Will he be able to make an effective horror movie? He switched from comedy to drama pretty well, so that alone is a reason to be hopeful. Danny McBride helped writing the screenplay and he also comes from a comedic background. Hopefully Halloween isn’t riddled with untimely and unnecessary comedy. Regardless, I am very excited for it. The first trailer is high on my anticipation list. Are you guys excited for Halloween?
