The Revenant & Mad Max: Fury Road Lead 2016 Oscar Nominations – Star Wars The Force Awakens Snubbed

The entire list of nominees for this year’s 88th Annual Academy Awards has been revealed with The Revenant leading the pack at 12 and Mad Max: Fury Road with 10. Chris Rock will host the ceremonies when it airs live at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre on February 28th.

I was a little shocked when Star Wars: The Force Awakens didn’t nab any Golden Globe recognition but had assumed it was because they didn’t send out any screeners to the press. With a movie as beloved and financially successful as the latest Star Wars has been, it’s a letdown to see it only pick up three nods. You can guess which three they are since they’re the same spots reserved for typical summer blockbuster schlock. Traitors….
