As 2019 comes to close, it is time for review some of the best comic series that came out this year, including Invisible Kingdom, Sentient and These Savage Shores. These are in alphabetical order, as I believe all the books, along with their creators and publishers, deserve equal praise. Read below for the full list.

DIE

Image Comics – Kieron Gillen, Gillen, Stephanie Hans, Clayton Cowles, Rian Hughes

DIE is a pitch-black fantasy where a group of forty-something adults have to deal with the returning unearthly horror they barely survived as teenage role-players. If Kieron’s in a rush, he describes it as “Goth Jumanji.” That only captures a sliver of what you’ll find in oversized debut issue—where fantasy gets all too real.

FEARSCAPE

Vault Comics – Ryan O’Sullivan, Andrea Mutti, Vlad Popov, Andworld

The Fearscape is a world beyond our own, populated by manifestations of our worst fears.
