E3 2018 is in the books and I’d like to run down my top 10 favourite reveals from the show including both cinematic and gameplay trailers from upcoming games like The Last of Us Part 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Battletoads and more!

#10. Dying Light 2 Gameplay Reveals Incredible World Impact from Player Choices

Seeing how Dying Light 2 changes the world dynamic of the game simply based on the choices you make during the story is fascinating to me and something you rarely see to this effect in an action game. I haven’t played the first entry in this series but I think I need to in order to prep for this glorious zombie-parkour epic.

#9. We Happy Few Story Trailer is Twisted as F***

I loved Bioshock Infinite and the creepy cult-like atmosphere that game carried throughout so to see We Happy Few take that formula and crank up the discomfort level is a joy. I can’t wait to dive into this unsettling first-person horror-show.

#8. The Walking Dead Gameplay Finally Revealed by Overkill

We’ve seen a lot of incredible cinematic character trailers for Overkill’s upcoming Walking Dead game and we finally get to see some action as this first-person shooter looks like a lot of fun. I’m not 100% sold on the graphics, yet, but I like where they’re going with it and I hope it sticks the landing because fans deserve a great game in this universe aside from the Telltale masterpieces.

#7. Battletoads is Back in 2019!

Battletoads. I grew up loving this insanely difficult gaming franchise so even though this reveal for a new game in 2019 has ZERO gameplay and ZERO art or character design reveals, I’m still including it on this top 10 because BATTLETOADS THAT’S WHY.

#6. Fallout 76 Looks Amazing Even Though it’s Online-Only

I don’t want to play an online-only game Bethesda. I don’t. I’m happy that Fallout 76 isn’t an MMO, but it might as well be if I’m gonna wind up spending money for an Xbox Gold subscription to simply play the damn thing and I’m really tempted because THERE ARE GIANT WASTELAND BATS TO FIGHT IN THIS. Plus MORE BASE-BUILDING – ANYWHERE I WANT. I love Fallout and I’m a sucker so time will tell when the game comes out this Fall (HEY, A REVEAL THAT ISN’T GOING TO BLEED INTO NEXT YEAR’S E3?!?! Crazy and thank you). Fallout 76 makes me yell apparently.

#5. Kingdom Hearts III Continues to Look Incredible for Disney Die-Hards

I haven’t played the previous entries of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, but with every new reveal of this upcoming 2019 title I can’t help but fall further in love with the insane combat and crazy fun Disney inspired levels/combat. This Pirates trailer shows you that the game is able to flawlessly bounce between live-action Disney franchises as well as animated in what will no doubt be a game of the year candidate in 2019.

#4. New Spider-Man Gameplay & Villains Reveal

I don’t own a PS4 but Sony has in my opinion now won TWO E3’s in a row with their insane exclusives and this is hands down going to be the greatest Spider-Man gaming experience of all time and potentially the best superhero videogame ever made (watch out Arkham City). Also I love the updated costumes for classic villains like Rhino and Scorpion.

#3. Anthem Gameplay Reveal from EA Play Press Conference

Look. It’s Bioware. I’ll buy it (I loved their latest Mass Effect – suck it). Also, I realise it looks a little like Destiny, but I’m excited for something new from one of the best gaming developers of all time and Anthem only looks better with every deeper look.

#2. Cyberpunk 2077 Cinematic Trailer

From PROJEKT RED, creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — (that’s all the frikken info you damn well need people) – comes a Bladerunner 2049-esque game that we’ll all be playing until we can’t feel feeling anymore.

#1. The Last of Us Part II Gameplay Trailer

Ellie is an amazing protagonist and watching how fluid and brutal the combat is in The Last of Us Part II is a glorious thing to behold. Seeing her jam that hammer into a dude’s face sealed the deal for me and that’s why this gameplay reveal trailer is easily the coolest thing I’ve seen from this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.
