Wednesday is here again, which means a new week for new comics (FEARSCAPE, THE ELECTRIC BLACK, & INVISIBLE KINGDOM). If you are like me, you may still have a stack of comics that haven’t been read from last week, but how can anyone fault us for reading. Here is a list of books I will be picking up at my local comic shop.
Like many readers I try to budget my purchases, which can become difficult when there are so many quality books being published each week. So here are 5 titles to consider picking up this week.
INVISBILE KINGSDOM #2 – $3.99
Dark Horse Comics – G. Willow Wilson, Christian Ward, Sal Cipriano
After her shocking discovery of religious corruption, Vess must choose between quiet obedience in the monastery, and deafening truth . . . in exile. Meanwhile, Grix learns that Lux will stop at nothing to keep her newfound knowledge from leaking, and decides to make a break for it. Both women might feel terribly alone- but not for much longer.
FEARSCAPE #5 – $3.99
Vault Comics – Ryan O’Sullivan, Andrea Mutti, Vladimir Popov, Andworld Design, Ariela Kristantina
In the final issue, Henry Henry shows his true colours as he-I promised myself I would not interject again, but alas I must: “True colours”?! Really?! I appreciate it is only marketing copy, but must the closing chapter of my opus be marred with such overwrought cliche? At least pretend to care.
THE ELECTRIC BLACK #1 – $3.99
Scout Comics – Joseph Schalke, Rich Woodall
The Electric Black is a cursed antique shop, appearing in any time or space, soliciting customers it hungers to corrupt or devour. The mysterious Julius Black is the store’s demonic proprietor and narrator. He, along with his psychopathic employees, regularly manipulates patrons for their own devious purposes. Inside the eerie emporium, all of the forbidden objects have secrets to unlock. The poor souls that enter never leave without something. Its dark light will shine on macabre mysteries, grisly murders, and other frightful occurrences. Dare you step within its sinister halls?
MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS #38 – $3.99
BOOM! Studios – Marguerite Bennett, Simone Di Meo, Walter Baiamonte, Ed Dukshire, Miguel Mercado
The Power Rangers arrive at the home of the Solar Ranger…and learn the shocking secret behind the universe that’s drawn them together!
THE REALM #13 – $3.99
Image Comics – Seth Peck, Jeremy Haun, Nick Filardi, Thomas Mauer
Eli makes a horrifying discovery. MacInnis and his reavers close in while a trap is sprung.
