Batman White Knight

Wednesday is here again, which means a new week for new comics. If you are like me, you may still have a stack of comics that haven’t been read from last week, but how can anyone fault us for reading. Here is a list of books I will be picking up at my local comic shop.

Like many readers I try to budget my purchases, which can become difficult when there are so many quality books being published each week. So here are 5 titles to consider picking up this week.

Batman White Knight

Batman: White Knight #1 – $3.99

DC Comics – Sean Murphy, Matt Hollingsworth, Todd Klein

In a world where Batman has gone too far, The Joker must save Gotham City.
He’s been called a maniac, a killer and the “Clown Prince of Crime” but “white knight”? Never. Until now…
Set in a world where the Joker is cured of his insanity and homicidal tendencies, The Joker, now known as “Jack,” sets about trying to right his wrongs. First he plans to reconcile with Harley Quinn, and then he’ll try to save the city from the one person who he thinks is truly Gotham City’s greatest villain: Batman!
Superstar writer and artist Sean Murphy (PUNK ROCK JESUS, THE WAKE) presents a seven-issue miniseries of a twisted Gotham City with a massive cast of heroes and villains that, at its heart, is a tragic story of a hero and a villain: Batman and The Joker. But which is the hero-and which the villain?

Beautiful Canvas Black Mask

Beautiful Canvas #4 – $3.99

Black Mask Comics – Ryan Lindsay, Sami Kivela, Triona Farrell, Ryan Ferrier

A showdown on a zephyr. Every sacrifice hurts. Love endures and obliges. Lon Eisley has had a good run, but her story ends here. Stay in your seats for the coda, though, because the end is the beginning is, etc. From Sami Kivela [CHUM] & Ryan K Lindsay [NEGATIVE SPACE, and DC Writers Workshop] comes this masterful conclusion to a gonzo dystopian tale of villain zephyr fortresses, a scorched Earth, and brutally hard choices.

Centipede Dynamite

Centipede #3 – $3.99

Dynamite Entertainment – Max Bemis, Eoin Marron, Chris O’Halloran, Taylor Esposito, Francesco Francavilla
Trapped on a planet by yourself with a murderous monster can be a stressful ordeal, but Dale is taking it relatively well. Relatively being the key word. He is doing his best to make sure the world killer stays on his heels while trying to find a way to hurt it before his time runs out, all done with the help of his imaginary friend…you!

Shadowman Rae Sremmurd Valiant

Shadowman/Rae Sremmurd #1 – $3.99

Valiant Entertainment – Eliot Rahal, Renato Guedes, Dave Lanphear

The comics crossover event of 2017! Valiant’s superhero icon meets Rae Sremmurd, the multiplatinum hip-hop superstars behind the #1 hit “Black Beatles,” for an unforgettable showdown at the crossroads of life and death! Before they were dominating the music charts and selling out stages worldwide, Slim Jxmmi and Swag Lee were just a pair of talented, but otherwise ordinary, brothers…until a twist of fate delivered them fame and wealth beyond their wildest imagination. Now, years later as hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd, the brothers are bound for New Orleans…and an otherworldly encounter with the supernatural guardian called Shadowman, the lone line of the defense between our world and the Deadside that lies beyond…

Venomverse Marvel

Venomverse #5 – $3.99

Marvel Comics – Cullen Bunn, Iban Coello, Matt Yackey, Joe Caramagna, Clayton Crain

THE CONCLUSION OF THE VENOM EPIC OF THE YEAR ARRIVES!
•  Even with Carnage on their side, the Venoms find themselves against the ropes with the clock ticking.
•  The threat of the Poisons is looming over the Marvel Universe larger than ever, and the Venoms
have no choice but to make some sacrifices…

Extra Pulls: Batman #32, Batman The Dawnbreaker, Paper Girls #16, Spider-Man #21, Moonstruck #3
