Vikings Renewed for Gigantic 20-Episode 5th Season & Jonathan Rhys Meyers Joins Cast

From the History Channel and creator showrunner Michael Hirst, comes the groundbreaking series Vikings. Starring Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen, Gustaf Skarsgard, Alexander Ludwig, Alyssa Sutherland and Linus Roache, the show is currently airing it’s fourth season.

History announced that Vikings has been renewed for a fifth season which will air in 2017 and contain a whopping 20 episodes. Far more than fans are typically used to having. Also – actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors) has signed on to join the cast for season five. Although it is not known who Meyers will play, he’ll be a welcome addition to the series.
