Wonder Woman: We Can Only Hope the Movie is Just as Good as this New Trailer

by | Mar 12, 2017

Let’s cut to the chase and present to you the new trailer for Wonder Woman, which debuted during the 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards last night:

Looks great, right? I love how this trailer is cut together. The score, the scenes on Themyscira, the action itself. All of it looks great.

If there’s one thing Warner Brothers has been able to accomplish with their DC Extended Universe so far, it’s putting together trailers for their movies (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad). But for many people though, they’ve liked the trailers more than the actual full length movies of these comic book adaptations.

Ever since seeing Suicide Squad and reading The Hollywood Reporter’s detailed report on the movie’s troubled production, I’ve been so hesitant about the upcoming DC film slate, wondering how Warner Brothers is handling their comic book properties behind the scenes.

Warner Brothers knows how to market their comic book movies, but the actual movies need to be universally crowd-pleasing in order for their DC film slate to feel worthwhile.

So far, I’ve really liked every bit of footage we’ve seen from Wonder Woman and Saturday’s new trailer gives me even more hope that maybe director Patty Jenkins has made something special.

I’m rooting for Wonder Woman. I want this movie to be great and I hope it delivers. But will it be the crowd-pleasing movie this cinematic universe sorely needs or will it be another fan-divided DC movie that underwhelms? We’ll find out this June.
