From Voltage Pictures, Cota Films and director Joe Berlinger (Paradise Lost Trilogy) with a screenplay by Michael Werwie, comes the Ted Bundy biopic ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile‘. Starring Zac Efron as Bundy, the film does not have a release date at this time.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile follows the dysfunctional relationship between Bundy and his long-time girlfriend Liz. Bundy, a killer and rapist of young girls and women who was notoriously charming, was executed in Florida in 1989.
So this is amazing news… Zac Efron will play Ted Bundy – yes the psychotic serial killer/rapist Ted Bundy who confessed to 30 homicides before he was executed in prison in 1989. True crime fanatics consider Bundy one of history’s most notorious serial killers — the guy once referred to himself as “the most cold-hearted son of a bitch you’ll ever meet”. Even his defense attorney proclaimed Bundy to be “the very definition of heartless evil”.
The film will be told from Bundy’s girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer’s point of view and I’m ecstatic to see what Efron can do in what will no doubt be the most serious and chilling role of the young star’s career – drastically shifting his bigscreen performances from the usual comedy affair to the most dark and grim territory ever considering Bundy would go on to rape and kill at least 30 young women (and most of the crimes were committed in Bundy’s 1968 Volkswagen Beetle).
