Nintendo released a surprise “micro” Nintendo Direct video today. For those who have not gotten the chance to watch it or want to skip the cheesy jokes and just get the highlights then this article is for you.
The 17 minute video showcased some video footage from the new game in the Bravely Default JRPG series called Bravely Second: End Layer. This game will be able to function as a stand alone to new players but will offer a continuing story to players of the first game.
We were also shown a new Pokemon title where the main character is turned into a Pokemon and transported to a world of consisting of only Pokemon. You may pick from a variety of Pokemon to become and choose your partners in this new adventure game called Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. It will be available on the 3DS this winter.
With the next Olympic games coming to Rio in 2016 of course Nintendo has to capitalize using their flagship characters, and Sonic, to make a Mario and Sonic Olympics game. Like the previous Mario and Sonic game it will feature various Olympic events and come with 2 versions, one on the 3DS and one on the Wii U. Note: not all sports are available on both versions.
Splatoon was also talked about in the video. Nintendo is releasing ranked play today along with the N-Zap85 Weapon and a new map. I will be doing a review of Splatoon later so keep an eye out for that if you are interested in this game.
Additionally they mentioned a new Art Academy for Wii U, Footage for Project Treasure, a new Chibi-Robo game on the 3DS called Chibi-Robo: Zip Lash, LBX for the 3DS and covered some info about Nintendo world championships that will take place at E3 this year.
