Quentin Tarantino’s ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.

The first trailer for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is even better than I had hoped for. To be honest — I haven’t been blown away by a Tarantino movie trailer since Kill Bill Volume 1 and he’s my favorite filmmaker of all time (hence the name of my website). Brad Pitt absolutely steals the show here with my favorite lines and I wouldn’t be shocked if he winds up getting a supporting Oscar nod if that kind of brilliance continues throughout the film. As happy as I am that the movie comes out this summer – I’m worried that it will be completely ignored during awards season. If this thing were to debut in Fall, 2019 – rest assured it would be in consideration on ALL FRONTS as every Tarantino movie has been in the past.

We get our first glimpse of Charles Manson played by Quarry actor Damon Herriman (read more about him HERE) as well as Bruce Lee (played by Mike Moh) who has some of the coolest lines of the trailer as well which I won’t ruin for you here (watch it!). That being said, the film is absolutely jampacked with amazing actors and it would take forever to mention all the real life stars of Hollywood from that time period in this one article. The vibe feels like Pulp Fiction, the script has been called the closest thing to Pulp Fiction SINCE Pulp Fiction came out in 1994 — so let’s all continue to remain justifiably excited. Tarantino did TWO western flicks in a row, so I’m looking forward to something different and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood looks like the must-see movie of summer 2019.
