During Apple’s reveal event today, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto took to the stage to deliver a SHOCKING announcement to fans. Super Mario Run will be coming to iOS devices (iPhones/iPads) this December and it will be a full fledged action platformer created specifically for the device.
“We have created Super Mario Run to be perfect for playing on your iPhone. Super Mario has evolved whenever he has encountered a new platform, and for the first time ever, players will be able to enjoy a full-fledged Super Mario game with just one hand, giving them the freedom to play while riding the subway or my favorite, eating a hamburger.” – Shigeru Miyamoto
Super Mario Run will be available to test out for free, but in order to enjoy the full title – there will be a ONE-TIME fee on the App Store. Don’t worry as the game will be available in over 100 countries and in nine different languages during it’s launch. Afterwards, Nintendo will follow through with plans to launch mobile titles for Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem before the end of March, 2017.
The objective of the game is simple: running through levels and collecting coins while trying to hit the goal at the end. There will be competitive modes where players can compete acrobatically against others who have already passed the levels for style points to see who can obtain a higher score. Also there will be a Mushroom Kingdom creator included, which is intriguing.
