TOP 5 COMICS TO BUY – 04/27/16: 4 KIDS WALK INTO A BANK, THE DOORMAN, & SQUIRREL GIRL

It is the last Wednesday of the month, which means its a big one for new comics. So if you are like me and still reading through the stack of comics from the last couple weeks, better make some room for these new titles avaiable at your local comic shop.

Despite the last Wednesday of the month typically having the most new titles, I have yet to master budgeting my purchases, but I am always attempting to change that. So here are 5 titles worth looking into this week, and a cfew honorary mentions for those of us that picked up that extra shift while your co-worker was on vacation.

4 Kids Walk into a Bank #1 – $3.99

Matthew Rosenberg, Tyler Boss, Clare Dezzuti, Courtney Menard, Thomas Mauer

I absolutely love heist plots, so the concept of this new series from writer Matthew Rosenberg and the art team is right up my alley. Last years We Can Never Go Home really caught my attention to Rosenberg and Blaskmask Studios, and while the second volume isn’t due out until later this year, I highly anticipate 4 Kids Walk into a Bank to be this years big hit.

The Doorman #2 – $3.99

Eliot Rahal, Daniel Kibblesmith, Kendall Goode

Henry’s marooned on an alien planet. Detective Flower’s been shot. Charming gazillionaire, Carlisle Moongale, just murdered every other Doorman in the galaxy. Now, Henry must convince corrupt space cops to go after the universe’s richest man – or learn that in space, no one can hear you squeal! Eliot Rahal (The PaybacksUnity) and Daniel Kibblesmith (BloodshotHow to Win at Everything) team with artist Kendall Goode (The Pride) to bring funny back!

Micronauts #1 – $3.99

Cullen Bunn, David Baldeon, J.H. Williams

THEY CAME FROM A DYING UNIVERSE! ACROYEAR, SPACE GLIDER, BIOTRON and their allies are back, on the run from the evil BARON KARZA, and blasting through a universe where magic and science vie for control! With resources dwindling, the long-lost TIME TRAVELERS may hold the key to salvation… but will it mean armageddon for our world?

Sex Criminals #15 – $3.50

Matt Fraction, Chip Zdarsky

How much more meta can this comic get. Who cares, all that matters is Sex Crimz is back.

Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #7 – $3.99

Ryan North, Erica Henderson, Rico Renzi

Make the right choice by picking up Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. Now that you have a taste for choices, put them to good use and take control over Doreen Green’s destiny. This months issue is a choose-your-own-adventure, but not only that features infamous marvel villian SWARM. If there is one Marvel hero up to the task to take on a swarm of bees, Squirrel Girl, Tippy-Toe and their squirrel friends are the perfect match.

Extra Pulls: Black Canary #11, Batman #51, Injection #9, Star Wars #18, Rick & Morty #13
