From Netflix, Marvel Studios and showrunner Scott Buck (Dexter, Rome), comes Iron Fist. Finn Jones will star as the title hero in the upcoming original series which debuts all 13 episodes on March 17, 2017 and co-stars Tom Pelphrey, David Wenham, Jessica Henwick and Jessica Stroup.
Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.
Finn Jones never had a chance to truly shine on Game of Thrones (although he did a wonderful job on the show in what little screen-time he had). His character didn’t get to do all the cool stuff from the novels and his final season on the series was super depressing. I love that he’s getting an entire series to show fans what he’s capable of in Iron Fist. The first full length trailer for the upcoming Netflix series looks action-packed in the vein of Daredevil, which is what I love and what I felt was lacking from Jessica Jones and Luke Cage (both of which I honestly never bothered to finish). Spoiler alert – you won’t see the Iron Fist costume here, but you should have assumed as much considering Daredevil season 1.
